Manuscript Description:

Al-Hidaya (Part 1) in Hanbali Fiqh by its author, Al-Kolthani, Mahfouz bin Ahmed bin Al-Hassan, who died in 510AH. copied it in Naskh font on Saturday, 3 Rabi’ al-Awwal 1347 AH. The number of papers was 143 sheets, the number of lines was 18, and the size was 24 × 17 cm. Beginning of the manuscript: (Praise be to God, the bestower of every blessing, and may God’s prayers be upon His Messenger, Muhammad, the Prophet of mercy, and upon his family and companions... This is a summary in which I mentioned a few sentences from the origins of the doctrine of Imam Ahmad bin Muhammad bin Hanbal Al-Shaibani, may God be pleased with him, in Fiqh...) End of the manuscript: (Chapter of Rulings on the mothers of children: Whoever slept with his slave-girl, or a slave-girl whom he owns jointly, or the slave-girl of his son, then he has offspring with her... Abu Talib reported that he has to have the hadd punishment, and does she have to cover her head in prayer? on two ways.) Its papers are of different size and type. The last of them is an index to the chapters of book, the first of which is owned by the Transcriber. Black ink was used in writing, and what is to be distinguished was written in red, it seems that its papers were removed from their binding for the purpose of photographing.
