Manuscript Description:

(Zawa’id al-Kafi and al-Muharrar on al-Muqni’) is a manuscript classified under the Hanbali jurisprudence, by its author Ibn Obaidan, Abd al-Rahman ibn Mahmoud ibn Muhammad, who died in the year 734 Hijiri. And Ismail bin Muhammad bin Bardas (Nasr) bin Bardas bin Raslan transcribed it in Al-Naskh font script on Wednesday, 23 Sha’ban 764 AH. The number of papers was 159, and the number of lines was 19, with a size of 19 x 14 cm. The manuscript begins with: (Praise be to God, Lord of the Worlds, and May his blessings and peace be upon the Master of the Messengers, Muhammad, who was sent as a mercy to the worlds... As for what follows, when Allah Almighty made it possible for us to collect Zawa’id al-Kafi... and Zawa’id al-Muharrar.. A'la al-Muqni’... I wanted to combine them so increase its benefit...) This is a precious copy, which was relied upon for printing the book, and it was corrected and punctuation marks were placed on the copy itself. The first paper was torn off and completed in a different font, and what had been eroded from its edges was repaired. It was flogged with the front of the printed book. Its letters are mixed, and part of the transcriber's name was obliterated, and he pointed out in the mentioned introduction to the rest of the transcriber's name, and he turned out to be one of the well-known names. He used black ink in writing, and red ink for symbols, and some commas.
