Thesis regarding how to guard against plague and pandemic is a manuscript classified within the sciences of medicine. It was written by Ahmad bin Muhammad al-Hamawi, who died in 1098 AH. It was copied by Ahmad Affendi al-Afifi on Wednesday in the month of Rabi' al-Akhir in the year 1125 AH in the Naskh script. The number of papers 7 (1b - 7a), and the number of lines was 21, with a size of 19.5 x 14.5 cm. The beginning of the manuscript: (Praise be to God, who removes affliction from His servants by submissiveness, humbling and cringing to Him, and then, this is a summary of what the sultans of the scholars and the wise men mentioned regarding how to guard against plague and pandemic, and what is used in their times...), and the end of the manuscript: (And we will conclude this brief with a wonderful story. Sabat Ibn Al-Jawzi narrated... about the plague... He said: only a slave girl was left of them, her family died, and when the chandelier appeared, the poisons blew up, the flies raged, the plague rose, and the maid heard the wolf howling, and she said, addressing him poetry: O wolf that cries out of restless *** Shall I tell you what happened to me). This manuscript was written in black ink and some phrases in red, it has a commentary, in the margins there are comments and corrections, the title came on the cover (Al-Durr Al-Maknoun fi Al-kalam 'n Al-Ta'on) and the author was not named, in its beginning the transcriberis owned and wrote the date of transcription on the cover page with poetic entries, Hassan Al-Husseini owned the estate of Ali Al-Qutb.
